A little about us
Photogenics Creative Images specializes in producing creative, beautiful portrait images and videos that exactly meet your expectations. We take pride in our ability to capture the individual beauty of the human form with the highest level of professionalism. Our objective is to capture the art and beauty in everything that passes through our lens.
We want you to be free to express yourself on camera. We specialize in making the whole experience safe, fun and exciting, yet relaxed, comfortable and easy. You only work with experienced, professional artist photographers and videographers. Our expertise is working with models that may have little or no experience (we can provide guidance, training and reassurance as needed), all the way to well seasoned professionals, always working within the models comfort zone. We will help you explore your boundaries and push them if you like, in a safe and intimate setting. You can feel confident knowing that you will always be treated professionally and with the highest degree of respect.
For your safety and security, you are welcome to bring along your bestie or someone you trust...or not. It's not required but you may help feel more confident and relaxed. It's totally up to you and we understand so it's OK with us.
Privacy
Your privacy and security is extremely important to us. Any information you provide or images you create with Pics Now Professional Photography will be kept strictly confidential. We do not share, trade, sell, or in any way distribute any information whatsoever. We will keep your images absolutely private unless we get your prior written consent. Any exception will be discussed before hand and captured in writing (posting a publically acceptable image or two to our website and/or social media accounts for as an example of the quality of our work, etc.). Discretion and confidentiality are standard procedure without exception. That's it - pretty simple.
Prepare
Start by collecting images of clothing, poses and expressions you would like to try. Pintrest is a great place to search as well as start your own collection. You can easily remove anything you find a better image of or change your mind about. We will go over this more when you arrive.
One of the biggest challenges for many of our clients is their expression. Prepare for your shoot! My advice to you is to practice 3 things:
- Practice your sexy, seductive, non-smiling expressions in the mirror every day leading up to your shoot, regardless of how ridiculous you feel doing it.
- Learn how to keep your forehead smooth when you look up and when you smile.
- Learn how to do a short laugh on command.
- Practice releasing and not holding tension in your lips and eyes.
- Remember to breathe!
Facials are key in every shoot and are difficult to master. Practice makes perfect! Practicing the three points above will make a huge difference in the way your pictures turn out.
Again, it is very important to practice your facial expressions in the mirror each day prior to your shoot. There is often a fine line between angry and sexy, so practice your expressions in the mirror! You will be glad you did.
Hair & makeup
Take this time to get mentally ready for your upcoming shoot anticipating the fantastic images the will come of it. During this time, maybe enjoy a glass or two of your favorite wine and listen to some sexy music. Speaking of music, you might want to prepare a play list of your favorite tracks to play on our Bluetooth speaker. And maybe another glass or two of wine also for during the shoot (this is a great prop).
You can do your own hair and makeup or have it done by a professional. If you do choose a professional, it works best if you schedule directly with your hair and makeup artists. The best providers of these services book out quite a ways, so be sure to get on their schedule as soon as you know your shoot date.
Also, if you would like some help with your tan, then I would suggest a professionally applied, spray tan. However you tan, be sure to avoid severe tan lines and sunburns.
What to Wear
Be sure to plan ahead and bring any outfits with you that you would like to wear during your photo shoot. Be creative and bring more than enough outfits. Generally, we will have time for about 4-6 different outfits.
Bring items you know you look and feel good in. Try on every outfit before your shoot to see how they look & feel. Pose a little bit in front of a mirror so you can get an idea of what you will look like.
Bring your heels as they add a lot to certain poses.
Bring any shear fabrics and/or scarfs that you may have for silhouettes.
Gather up the clothing you will wear and lay them out on your bed in the order you will be wearing them. Start with more covering thing like a loose fittings sweater or a man's button down shirt to help ease you in the "zone". Keep in mind that tight fitting items like corsettes can leave marks on your skin so save them for towards the end of your shoot.
Here are a few more specific ideas that tend to work very well for boudoir shoots:
- Boy shorts, thongs, jeans
- Maxi tops and bandeau tops
- Sheer tops, lace cover-ups
- Short jean shorts
- Barbie doll nightie, lingerie
- Low cut bikini briefs
- Any type of heels - A Must!
- Tight tank top with shear coverup
- Hip huggers, G-string
- Large shear fabric and/or scarf for silhouettes
- White t-shirts
- White dress shirt
- Mens button down shirt
- Loose, comfy sweaters that come off a shoulder
- Leggings/Stockings
- Sports jersey and gear
- Lacy bra & panty set - A Must!
- Pin-up style props
- Anything else you want
Your shoot
Arrive at our studio the day of your shoot with your hair and makeup done, with all of your clothing, shoes, props, etc. Be ready to get going right away. Our time is limited.
When you arrive, we will talk for a few minutes and then go over all of the different outfits that you brought with you and go over any ideas that you might have and the images you have collected. After that, we will go over poses that you like or dislike so that I can get an idea of the style of shoot you want.
At this time we will also discuss pricing, ownership rights and release forms. Sometimes we make adjustments to our standard pricing in exchange for the right to use certain images on our website and promotional material. If no such arrangements are made, then everything is kept strictly confidential and private - only you can decide to show the pictures you purchase. I am held legally liable to honor this. Then, we’ll put on (your) music get started with the shoot!
I always start with poses that don’t have you looking at the camera. This allows you to have some time to get comfortable before we start working on facials.
Following your shoot, we will go through the pictures and pick out the ones you love, so plan on being here approximately three hours for best results.
Whatever you choose to purchase, payment is due the day of your shoot. We accept cash, checks and PayPal.
All payments are due before any product is ordered. When post processing and prints (if ordered) are ready, I will send you access credentials and you can download your images and/or we will mail your prints to you.
